VORTEX Champ - Competition technology

The VORTEX Champ is the competition version of the proven well proven VORTEX. This model represents the very pinnacle of composite construction. The main product highlights, when compared with the standard Vortex are as follows:

• Hybrid Carbon Composite wing joiner.
• LSCTP-Tec provides significant weight reduction and improved static load carrying characteristics.
• Matched and balanced ailerons.
• Underside hinged flaps incorporating TA – hinge sealing system.
• All control surfaces produced from hand-selected stock for improved torsion characteristics.

The result is an amazingly light model for its size which is built to withstand the rigours of competition flying at the highest level. It’s no coincidence that the VORTEX has defended the title of German Master – for the past four consecutive years!

To further enhance the competitive edge, the VORTEX Champ is now also equipped with the Easy-Clic TA-Balast System. Easy-Clic is a sophisticated system that allows reconfiguring of the ballast load in seconds with the aid of a handle. The ballast load is held securely in place at the optimum position in the fuselage bulkhead by means of a TA-Multilock.

The result is a class winning 4900 g take off weight - about one kilogram lighter than the standard version. This gives a wing loading of about 51 g / dm ² for the 4.3 m version. The 5 m version weighs in at approximately 5300 g (in exact compliance with competition regulations).
